UK-based Course Exchange Ltd launches CourseKing in India

UK-based Course Exchange Ltd launches CourseKing in India

Mumbai, Feb 23 (VCC) UK-based Course Exchange Ltd. Has launched CourseKing in India to help people improve their employability.

This site would help people in India to find UK accredited job-focused courses, to help improve their skills, and ultimately increase their career potential.

CourseKing allows the Indian market to tap into the established UK further education system and their dedicated further education colleges, which focus on career and job-focused courses, helping individuals acquire skills that are attractive to employers. This portal is there to help anyone who wants to improve his or her professional life or wants that differentiator during the job search. CourseKing provides not only courses, but also dedicated advice around choosing the right career for your job and advice direct from employers.

‘’By 2020, the number of college graduates is expected to rise between 75 lakh to a crore annually and in the same period about one crore new jobs will be created in the IT/BFSI segment. Although it looks like the perfect supply-demand balance, 80 per cent of the resource will be unemployable, said Santanu Paul, CEO TalentSprint.

However, the need for resources with job-focused skills is constantly outstripping the supply, and these days having just a degree is not enough. Employers are looking for people with work experience or practical, job-ready skills in addition to the Bachelors degree, making it hard for graduates to enter the workplace.

“The intention with CourseKing.in ( www.courseking.in) was to help bridge the skills gap in India by bringing accredited UK skills enhancement qualifications to the country,” said Naina Acharya, Marketing Manager, CourseKing.in.

IMT-Ghaziabad maintains top 10 status in Business India B-School ranking

IMT-Ghaziabad maintains top 10 status in Business India B-School ranking

New Delhi, Feb 23 (VCC) Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Ghaziabad has once again been ranked among the top ten business schools in India by an independent survey.

The recently released Business India 2011 B-School survey ranked IMT-G number nine out of the 335 schools it listed, putting the institute among what’s commonly called the “Ivy League” of India’s B-Schools.

It’s the same rank IMT-G was awarded last year – indeed the school has consistently achieved top ten status in surveys.

The Business India survey consisted of a 12-section questionnaire which covered a wide range of topics from campus specializations, pedagogy and curriculum, faculty profiles and library data to student support facilities, industry outreach and international linkages.

A total of 1,000 marks were assigned across the questionnaire, then final marks were determined by a 10-category score sheet, with brand equity accounting for 25 per cent of the final mark; faculty and pedagogy 15 per cent; industry interface, technology use, infrastructure, income and expenditure each assigned 10 per cent and student facilitation, growth, overseas networking and alumni each accounting for five per cent of the final total.

The survey also got views on B-Schools from interested parties such as entrepreneurs, CEOs and professors.

Director Dr Bibek Banerjee has said the institute’s full-time faculty is comprised of academics, policy makers, seasoned management leaders and administrators. “Every one of them is committed to ensuring the curriculum at IMT Ghaziabad is cutting-edge and industry relevant. They constantly groom top managers and are regularly involved in executive education – exposing students to the right mix of theory and real world issues.”

“Our student exchange programme is ranked at number one. With over 70 student exchange tie-ups, our students get the right exposure to work in a multi-cultural environment, with strong emphasis on team-based learning methods,’’ he said.
And the Business India survey pointed out there is a “discernible push towards quality” by B-Schools “as they go in for revamping their curriculum, shedding courses, exposing their faculty to peer institutions through teaching, participation in conferences and joint submission of papers at national and international campuses.”

The survey also found international accreditation is also on the rise with seven schools already receiving it and nearly 100 pursuing it.
